bulrush or tule (Schoenoplectus spp.)

This colony was located right near the Glenn - Colusa County line where County Road 68 bends and turns into Norman Rd, about 3 miles east of Norman. The colony was using 2 different patches of tules/bulrush located about 300 feet apart in SE corner of the basin. A dirt driveway heads north to private property: Miller Dairy (sign) and a hunt club. Birds were also foraging on east side of dirt road on private property.

Nearby older colonies are East Norman #3 (1 mile west of this site) and East Norman (about 1 mile east of this site).
