Sanborn Slough

Stored Grains Present:
Primary Substrate:
willows (Salix spp.)
Secondary Substrate:
bulrush or tule (Schoenoplectus spp.)

Location hosts several marshy areas (Sanborn Slough, Angel Slough) along the edges of Butte Creek. Extensive habitat not present (possibly reason for small colony size). However, forage of several varieties is available in farmland to the east (where females were observed foraging) as well as relatively dense insect fauna in and around the sloughs adjacent to the creek channel.
