Willows have grown up considerable since my last visit. Lots of singing. A minority of females carrying nesting material. Many more females seen here that in the other two colonies in Lake County. Some possible nests about 8 feet from the road.. Males flycatching with upward sallies from trees in adjacent orchard. 51 males and females was the maximum number of individuals I could account for at once, but other birds were seen diving into blackberries where theycould not be counted. Possibly about the same number for a total of around 100.
