The colony was not excessively noisy. There was some singing, but often the colony was quiet. There was not a lot of carrying of nesting material. The birds observed were mostly males, not many females were observed. It is likely that incubation had begun. Land to the south appears to be grazed. Primary nest substrate is milk thistle. Surrounding land use includes grazed grassland to the south and agricultural land to the north, west and east. The "area estimate" is probably overestimated. There were 2 patches within that area where the birds were actually nesting.
