The tri-colored black birds come to Leona Valley in large flocks (at least 100's) on foggy days; they generally eat in the flat land marshy areas of central Leona Valley--along Leona Avenue as well as south of Elizabeth Lake Road; they have dominated the landscape over the years-except in 2007, when there were very few; as of December 2008, they have reappeared.
