Birds foraging in adjacent non-native grassland dominated by Brassica geniculata, Erodium spp., Amsynkia menzesii, and Bromus madritensis. Vegetation was very green. Birds were foraging on protected lands managed by the County of Riverside and the Riverside Parks and Open Space District. Grackles present and nesting in the marsh with the tricolors. No other avian predators observed. Vehicle and foot traffic was moderately frequent within about 30 meters of the colony but did not appear to disturb the birds.
